DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Excitement is in the air as we inch closer to opening day of the Farm Progress Show.

Wednesday, show organizers showed the updates and upgrades at the grounds of Progress City.

"The loading docks are super busy right now with new equipment rolling in. And the contents double every day," said Senior Director of Events, Matt Jungmann.

Thousands will take over the streets of Progress City during the three-day event to check out the newest model tractor and planter.

But there are some changes.

"Companies kind of come and go. There are a couple that aren't here that maybe were in 2023. But, then you have brand new ones like Kelly Hills that are bringing in the latest technologies here to the show," said Jungmann.

While the weather is looking nice for the show, there is still some uncertainty with the farm economy.

Jungmann said, "We are going to have great weather and a bad economy. So we'll see what we've got. I think folks might just want to get away from it all for a minute and come out and kind of dream and take a look at the new cool stuff and have kind of a one last pre-harvest vacation and come to the show."

While there have been several changes to the show site in the last 20 years, there are a few things that stay the same.

"There's still a lot of people that I was working with 20 years ago when we started this project. And it's the people that helped make the thing happen, whether that's Kathy at the info booth or the 4H at the food stand or the state police and everybody that we have the opportunity to work with every other year," said Jungmann.
