DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A Decatur man is dead and two more people were sent to the hospital after a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Decatur.
It happened just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of W. Rock Springs Road and Westgate Drive.
Police said a PT Cruiser was sitting in the eastbound lane of W Rock Springs Road facing westbound. It abruptly turned right across the westbound lane towards a driveway, when a Chevrolet truck going westbound hit the side of the car.
There were two men in the truck, an 18-year-old driver and a juvenile passenger. Both were sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
The 68-year-old driver of the PT Cruiser died after going to the hospital with serious injuries.
Police say there were no indications that the driver of the truck was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
The investigation is still ongoing.
