(WAND) - Food Network star and chef Anne Burrell has died at the age of 55. 

The Food Network confirmed Burrell passed away on its Instagram account, saying she died Tuesday morning. 

Her team said in a statement she died in her home in Brooklyn. 

Burrell hosted the "Worst Cooks in America" show and was a regular on the Food Network, making appearances on multiple shows on the channel. 

"Anne was a remarkable person and culinary talent - teaching, competing and always sharing the importance of food in her life and the joy that a delicious meal can bring," the Food Network posted. "Our thoughts are with Anne's family, friends and fans during this time of tremendous loss." 

Burrell is survived by her husband, his son, her mother, sister and brother. 

Her cause of death has not yet been released.
