Springfield, Ill. (WAND)- Illinois State Representative Darren Bailey will spend the night in the hospital under observation and additional tests after passing out on the Illinois House floor.Â
He has tested negative for COVID-19.Â
Illinois State Representative Darren Bailey passed out on the Illinois House of Representatives floor.Â
Bailey hit his head when he passed out, however, he was up and talking.Â
As lawmakers realized what happened, caucus members stood around him.Â
Some caucus members were praying over Bailey.Â
Governor J.B. Pritzker tweeted wishing Bailey a speedy recovery.Â
Bailey is expected to be okay and is getting treated at a local hospital.Â
In a statement Bailey said, he is fine and looks forward to getting back to work.Â
The house has been adjourned and will return Monday, January 10, 2021 12:30 p.m.
