URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - The Champaign County Regional Planning Commission will offer vehicle repair help during a walk-in event next month.Â
The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at RPC's main office in Urbana.Â
RPC said the event will approve 25 applicants on a first-come, first-served basis.
Those eligible for the program must live in Champaign County, be employed or actively seeking employment and have not received vehicle repair assistance within the last two years.Â
Additionally, applicants must present a driver's license, vehicle registration and insurance, two estimates for vehicle services/repairs, proof of income, and proof of SNAP, TANF and/or Medicaid, including the DHS case number.Â
RPC added that there is a maximum benefit of $1,400.Â
