CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - A Champaign doctor who was sued for leaving half of a fetus inside a patient's body during an abortion has been fined by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation.
Dr. Keith Reisinger-Kindle, of the Equity Clinic, was fined $5,000 by the IDFPR and must complete 20 hours of continuing medical education for his punishment.
Reisinger-Kindle was reprimanded “for failing to properly evaluate a patient before a procedure which resulted in hospitalization due to complications.”
In May, a woman identified as Jane Doe filed a medical negligence suit against Reisinger-Kindle and the Equity Clinic, saying that the remains of "half of a deceased pre-born human being" were found in her body.
