ARTHUR, Ill. (WAND) — No animals were hurt after a chicken barn caught fire near Arthur Thursday morning.
Arthur Fire and Ambulance told WAND News that the call came in just after 6:30 a.m. at a home southwest of Arthur.
The department said in a Facebook post that firefighters found the chicken barn and an attached barn on fire when they arrived.
Due to the quick work of the homeowner, the horses were removed from the barn safely, and there were no chickens in the barn, according to the department.
Fire crews said the chicken barn was deemed a total loss. The department did not have information on the cause of the fire.
