DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) – Cleanup from last Thursday’s storm could take many more days. One of the hardest-hit areas was Lincoln Park and some of the homes surrounding the park.

WAND News observed at least two homes that took direct hits. Other homes had fallen limbs, roof damage, or power knocked out. Power in Danville has been restored.

Lincoln Park had many trees down, as it appears the storm followed a straight line through the park. Large mature trees were ripped out of the ground with roots exposed. Other tall trees were sheared off near the top.

An Arts in the Park event scheduled for later this month will be moved out of the park, which is currently closed. A Facebook post on the Arts in the Park page on Tuesday afternoon indicates a new location for the program has not been selected.
