EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) — The Effingham Fire Department officially cut the ribbon on a new training center Friday.
The facility is located at 705 East Eiche Avenue. The department said it is a significant investment in it's firefighters' safety, training and preparedness, and will serve as a regional asset for training and collaborating with their mutual aid partners.
"This facility represents a continued commitment to providing the highest level of service possible," the department said. "Training is the foundation of the fire service, and this center allows our firefighters to train more effectively, more consistently, and in a more realistic environment right here at home."
