CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Habitat for Humanity of Champaign County (HfHCC) has announced the opening of its 2026 homebuyer application period.
The application period will be open from 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 2, to 5 p.m. Tuesday, June 16.
Applicants can apply online or in person at the Champaign County ReStore in Champaign.Â
According to HfHCC, the application period provides local families with a chance to secure affordable housing, as rent has increased by 41% since 2019.Â
"Becoming a homeowner is hard work, but when we come together — volunteers, donors and families — we create a powerful force for lasting change," said HfHCC Family Services Director Allison Garrett in a statement.
