(WAND) - Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias announced the launch of a statewide summer reading challenge, which will allow students to throw out the first pitch at an upcoming Chicago Cubs game.
Illinois Reads Together, in partnership with the Illinois Literacy Foundation (ILF) and the Cubs, will have students complete their local library's summer reading program.Â
The Secretary of State's office said participating libraries will send the names of qualified readers to the ILF for consideration.Â
Winners will be recognized during the Cubs' game against the Atlanta Braves Sept. 16 at Wrigley Field.Â
