HARRISTOWN, Ill. (WAND) - Crews responded to a major fire in Harristown Thursday evening. 

The fire happened at the Township Hall on N Meridian St. 

Dispatch received multiple reports of a building fire with callers reporting visible explosions and heavy black smoke.

A WAND News reporter on the scene captured the building engulfed in flames, and a thick cloud of smoke that was seen from miles away.  

It is not clear how the fire started or if anyone was inside. However, firefighters say no one was injured. 

The Harristown Fire Department told WAND that the fire is still under investigation. 

The fire was deemed under control around 7 p.m.
