DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Nobody was hurt and an investigation is underway after a home caught fire in Decatur Friday night.

The Decatur Fire Department responded to the 400 block of East Johnson Avenue just after 7 p.m. for reports of a house engulfed in flames.

According to DFD, firefighters began putting out the fire and did a search for anyone in the house, but crews were later evacuated due to "deteriorating fire conditions."

The department said firefighters then used a ladder hose to put out the fire and prevent it from spreading.

Nobody was hurt, and the cause is still under investigation.
