PANA, Ill. (WAND) - After around six months of planning, the City of Pana hosted a grand opening for a brand new skate park.
The Lincoln Park Pump Track and Skate Park was funded in part through donations, including donors like Pana Pride and the Peoples Bank and Trust.
Pana Economic Development Director Kirby Casner said she would have loved to see something like this years ago.
"I was raised in this community, born and raised here, and I remember riding my bicycle all over town, and we would have loved to have something like this when I was younger," Casner said.
Casner added that the track serves as a new way to show kids how to respect their community.
