RANTOUL, Ill. (WAND) - The Village of Rantoul advised residents that they overpaid in property taxes.
According to Rantoul's Facebook post on Tuesday, residents saw a rate of about $1.85 on their tax bills, when the intended rate is around $1.15.
It said the error was found after the bills were finalized and distributed.
The village is working with the Champaign County Clerk to reimburse taxpayers for the difference in rates.
