MT. PULASKI, Ill. (WAND) - The Logan County Tourism Bureau is hosting a series of events for residents to share their ideas to boost tourism in the area.
During an event Thursday at the Brickyard in Mount Pulaski, Bureau Board President Molly Pickering said this is part of a months-long effort to hear what people wanted to see represented throughout central Illinois.
"We had put out a survey earlier this year, and we were trying to identify assets in the community, but we wanted to have a conversation as well to really hear from people about what are the strongest assets in their community," Pickering said.
Pickering said the county wants to boost tourism as the state celebrates the Route 66 centennial.
