(WAND) - RWE celebrated a milestone of 1 gigawatt of energy projects in the Prairie State, highlighted by a ribbon-cutting for its Emily Solar project in central Illinois.
The 273.6 megawatt project in Clark and Cumberland Counties will provide affordable energy to residents statewide, according to RWE Americas.
RWE said that Emily Solar is anticipated to produce around $30 million in property tax revenues for Clark and Cumberland Counties.Â
"Emily Solar shows how energy projects can deliver safe abundant, reliable power while creating jobs and providing tangible local benefits for Clark and Cumberland Counties," said RWE Americas Chief Development Officer Hanson Wood in a statement.Â
The company will also donate $15,000 to Casey Youth Soccer as part of its commitment to being a long-term partner in the community.Â
