(WAND) - For certain counties in Illinois, it is not just those with asthma who have to be careful outside.
The Illinois EPA and Department of Public Health are urging residents to take precautions because of wildfire smoke coming down from Canada.
Starting Thursday, the organizations are recommending that people living in affected counties stay inside and use high-efficiency filters in air conditioners when possible.
Also, Illinois residents should consider using high-quality N95 or N100 masks if they do go outside.
