SHERMAN, Ill. (WAND) — The Village of Sherman was placed under a village-wide boil order Friday after a power outage affected the water system.
According to the village, the order was put in place due to a power outage Thursday evening that disrupted water system operations, causing water pressure levels to drop significantly.
The village said the order is expected to last through Saturday morning, but residents are urged to keep track of official communications for the status and eventual lifting of the order.
Sherman is located just north of Springfield and has about 4,300 residents.
