URBANA, Ill. (WAND) — As severe weather rolls through central Illinois Wednesday, several buildings and agencies are closing early.
WAND is tracking closures and cancellations as they are announced.
The Urbana City Hall will close at 12 p.m. out of an "abundance of caution to help ensure the safety of city employees and the public."
Residents are encouraged to conduct city business online whenever possible. City hall is expected to resume normal business hours on Thursday at 8 a.m. unless otherwise announced.
The Vermilion County Coroner's Office announced it will close early at 11 a.m.
The Vermilion County Supervisor of Assessments office will close at 12 p.m., according to County Board Office Manager Jennifer Jenkins.
Parkland College said it will close at 2 p.m. and all classes, programs and services are canceled. All College for Kids programs are canceled, including those with earlier start times.
Lake Land College will also close at 2 p.m. for the remainder of the day and evening. All classes and campus events after 2 p.m. are cancelled, including the Fast Track to Fall event.
The Iroquois County Administration Building will close at 12 p.m. Wednesday. It will re-open with regular hours on Thursday.
The Macon County Courthouse and all Macon County buildings will close at 1 p.m.
City of Champaign facilities will close to the public at 1 p.m. to "maintain employee safety and focus on emergency services during the forecasted severe weather." This includes the city building, Champaign Public Library, the Equity and Engagement and Neighborhood Services Departments, and the public works facility.
The Urbana Park District will close all facilities at 3 p.m.
