DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Decatur Fire Department is investigating after a vacant house caught fire Sunday morning.
Firefighters responded to a vacant, boarded up home in the 1600 block of East Hickory Street around 4:40 a.m.
When crews arrived, they found heavy fire throughout the house. The department said that firefighters used defensive measures to keep the fire from spreading once they realized there was nobody inside.
Nobody was injured, the department said. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
