COLES COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) - A young teenager is dead following a rollover accident in Coles County Thursday afternoon.Â
The Coles County Sheriff's Office responded to the accident involving a side-by-side UTV near 20940 ECR 100 North around 3 p.m.
The sheriff's office told WAND the child, identified by the coroner as 15-year-old Eli Tanner, was driving the UTV when it crashed. They were pronounced dead at the scene.Â
The cause of the accident is under investigation.Â
