DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Illinois State Police are urging people to slow down as roads in Central and Southern Illinois remain snowed covered. From 6am Sunday through 6am Monday ISP assisted 330 drivers.
According to State Trooper Jayme Bufford 70 cases involved property damage. Twelve involved personal injuries.
Bufford tells WAND News if drivers are involved in an accident they should remain in their car. They should also keep their seat belts on in case roads are icy and their vehicle is struck again.
An Illinois State Trooper was involved in an accident on Sunday in Sherman near Springfield. The trooper received minor injuries.
