(WAND)- As results trickle in from this years Primary election, lawmakers are sharing statements regarding the results.
Democratic Party of Illinois Statement on Illinois Presidential Primaries
“Congratulations to President Biden on his resounding victory in Illinois’ Democratic Primary Election. The Biden-Harris Administration has delivered for the American people by strengthening the economy, revitalizing American industry, expanding access to health care, investing in infrastructure, providing student debt relief, and more.
"Another Trump administration would be disastrous for Illinois and for America; we can’t afford to go backwards. While Donald Trump’s victory in the Republican primary is disappointing, it is not surprising, and the Illinois GOP will once again betray our state’s values and vow fealty to the dictator on the top of their ticket.
“Illinoisans recognize the importance of continuing the progress we’ve made under President Biden’s leadership, and will prove that once again in November by rejecting Trump’s MAGA agenda,” said DPI Chair Lisa Hernandez.
Nikki Budzinski released the following statement:
“In 2022, voters in the 13th District sent me to Congress to work across the aisle on the issues that matter most to working families in Central and Southern Illinois. And in my first term, I haven’t lost sight of that of that mission. I’ve been so honored to champion the needs of workers, veterans, family farmers and communities that have been left out and left behind for far too long. As the Democratic Nominee for Illinois’ 13th Congressional District, I look forward to highlighting the strong record of results I’ve been able to achieve, and the bipartisan approach I’ve taken to get things done for the people I serve. In the critical election ahead, I hope to earn the support of our voters once again.
Brad Halbrook released the following statement after winning his reelection campaign for State Representative in the 107th District.

Regan Deering released the following statement after securing her spot as the GOP nominee for Illinois’ 88th District State Representative.
"I am humbled by the trust placed in me, and I pledge to offer integrity, courage, and an unwavering commitment to our shared values," Deering stated. "This is just the beginning. I stepped into public service because I fear for my three kids’ future in Illinois. Creating the bright future we deserve won’t happen by winning Republican primaries alone.
