(WAND) – People who drink LaCroix may want to see a lawsuit accusing makers of putting insecticide chemicals in it.
WFLA reports the class action lawsuit accuses the National Beverage Corporation of incorrectly labeling its LaCroix drinks as “100% natural” when a chemical called linalool is in the cans. That chemical is part of cockroach insecticide.
The lawsuit says the drinks also have chemicals that “can cause kidney toxicity and tumors”. It claims the company misled customers with its labeling.
The National Beverage Corporation says accusations in the lawsuit are not true and are “without basis in fact or law”. It says each of the 21 flavor essences it sells are “certified by our suppliers as 100 percent natural”.
The lawsuit is looking for damages for consumers.
