Man arrested for sexual assault, grooming, and impersonating a police officer in Taylorville

TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — A 22-year-old man has been arrested in Taylorville for criminal sexual assault, grooming, sexual exploitation of a child, harassment, and impersonating a police officer.

Nicholas Millman was arrested on Thursday, following an extensive investigation according to the Taylorville Police Department. Traditional police methods were used as well new technology.

After getting taken into custody, Millman was interviewed by Detective Woods, Detective Adams, Deputy Chief Childers, and Chief Wheeler.

The department described the case as particularly disturbing, "given Millman's actions, including the impersonation of a police officer."

Chief Wheeler said that the thoughts and prayers of the department go out to the affected family, who can now get closure.
