MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) - A man who was arrested after he was found alone with a 13-year-old girl has been sentenced.
Ryan M. Lippolt was 23 when he was arrested in Mt. Zion. He was found running from his neighbor's 13-year-old girl's bedroom, according to a police sworn statement.
Mt. Zion officers arrested Ryan M. Lippolt on April 19, 2025, after his neighbor walked in on him and their 13-year-old daughter sitting on her bed.
In a sworn statement, the mother told police Lippolt was hanging out in her backyard, when he asked to use the restroom inside. After taking a long time the mother went inside to check on Lippolt and noticed her daughter's bedroom door was closed.
The mother told police she then opened her daughter's door and found Lippolt sitting close to her 13-year-old on her bed, with his hand on her thigh.
The mother told police Lippolt then ran past her and out the front door while asking them not to call police.
Mt. Zion officers talked with the 13-year-old, who said Lippolt came into her room, closed the door and sat down on her bed. She told police Lippolt showed her a video he had on his phone of her playing in the front yard of her house.Â
The 13-year-old said in a sworn statement she felt scared and wanted to leave but felt like she couldn't. She also shared that Lippolt began touching her thigh and asked to hug her, to which she said no.
During a mirandized interview, Lippolt admitted to being in her room, and touching her thigh, but said it was a misunderstanding. Lippolt also admitted to having the video of the 13-year-old in front of her home.
Lippolt was charged with grooming, criminal sexual abuse/ force, unlawful restraint, and battery.Â
Lippolt pleaded guilty to battery, a Class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 180 days in prison with credit for 3 days time served and two years probation.Â
