URBANA, Ill. (WAND) – A 78-year-old man who sexually exploited children will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
The U.S. government describes Cabery man Teotim Cizmar as a “manipulative pedophile” who involved children in sex acts “for his own sexual pleasure”. Prosecutors say he would act like a “man of faith” in front of children and their parents to groom them and gain access to the minors, and then directed the games the children played “toward his perverted sexual desires”.
Around friends and family, prosecutors say Cizmar would appear to be a “humble” and “kind” elderly person and a “loving” father.
Cizmar sexually exploited three different children, who were in the age range of 3 to 6 years old, from January to March in 2014 and created visuals of those sexual acts. He pleaded guilty to four sexual exploitation charges and to a possession of child pornography charge. Since his December 2016 arrest, he’s been in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service.
Each of the sexual exploitation charges carried a 30-year sentence and the child pornography charge meant another 20 years in prison (140 total years). Prosecutors say Cizmar showed a “lack of remorse”, to the point where they don’t believe he can be rehabilitated.
NOTE: Because this is a federal case, there is no mug shot of Cizmar to use in this story.
