DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District is inviting central Illinois residents to explore the Cahokia Mounds State Historic Site during a special trip on May 21.
Officials say the trip will last from 10:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Attendees will explore the remains of the ancient settlement known as Cahokia, as well as a museum.
A fee of $15 will cover transportation, and museum admission is free, but donations are encouraged. Attendees are also asked to bring their own lunch.
