ROCHESTER, Ill. (WAND) - No explosive devices were found after Rochester High School was evacuated Thursday for a bomb threat.Â
Rochester CUSD #3A said that a bomb threat was reported at the school at 11:40 a.m. RHS administration immediately called Rochester police and the Sangamon County Sheriff's Office, who responded right away.
Students were evacuated to the Rochester Fire Department for parents to pick them up.
Rochester police said officers and K-9 units searched school buildings, vehicles and the nearby grounds on site and found no explosives. All students and staff members were reported safe.Â
The school district did not clarify how the threat was made or discovered.Â
Rochester police added that the threat is currently under investigation with help from the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force.Â
