EFFINGHAM, Ill. (WAND) - No one was injured after a fire broke out in an Effingham home Tuesday night.Â
The Effingham Fire Department was called to the 700 block of Holiday Drive at 9:15 p.m.Â
Smoke and heavy fire was coming from the outside of the home when crews arrived. Firefighters knocked down the fire and then extinguished hotspots.Â
Everyone was able to get out of the home safely before the fire department arrived.Â
The cause of the fire was ruled to be accidental, started by the fireplace.Â
The Effingham Fire Department said the cold weather added an extra challenge for firefighters, but no one on the department was injured.Â
