SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) – A fight ended with a female victim suffering a stab wound.
Springfield officers say two girls were fighting after 5 p.m. near the area of 17th and Reynolds streets. They say one of the girls punched the other, leaving a “significant” cut from a ring she had on.
Police say the victim came to the hospital on her own. They say Memorial Medical Center staff discovered a stab wound on her back. The cut was not a major injury.
Police told WAND-TV they are likely going to investigate the stabbing as domestic.
