DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — WAND News has learned that Rep. Sue Scherer is recovering from a car crash that happened on April 1.
The director of communications for the Illinois House Democrats said that Scherer has returned home and is expected to make a full recovery.
While she's out, her colleagues in the House have helped pass two of her bills this week: House Bill 2574, which adds additional transparency to the State Board of Education’s contracting, and House Bill 1865, which curbs coercive insurance marketing to seniors in nursing homes and memory care facilities. Rep. Diane Blair-Sherlock presented both bills on Scherer's behalf.
