LINCOLN, Ill. (WAND) — A large portion of the roof at the Eaton Corporation plant could be seen hanging off of the building on Tuesday morning.

An Eaton employee told WAND News that she heard a sound like an explosion between 10 and 10:30 a.m. and that the building's internal sirens went off.

As the employees moved to their shelter area, they saw glass and windows breaking and I-beams piercing the roof.

The Eaton Corporation told WAND news that the facility's roof was damaged in Wednesday morning's storm. All employees at the site were safely evacuated and operations have been paused for the day to assess damage.
