SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The City of Springfield is rushing to push its solar projects online.
Sun2o, a solar company, is working to get a 1,200-acre project done in Sangamon County.Â
Federal regulators are fast-tracking green projects to quickly generate power for the electric grid operator in the Corn Belt.
Additionally, developers must begin construction on solar projects by July 2026 to get federal tax credits under the "Big Beautiful Bill."Â
