SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Alderman Chuck Redpath will soon be sworn in as Springfield's new city clerk, according to WTAX,
Frank Lesko resigned from the clerk position, after winning the Sangamon County Recorder race. The race between Lesko and former recorder Josh Langfelder was close, with only 31 votes separating the candidates.
WTAX reported that Redpath had the necessary votes to move into the job at a special city council meeting Monday.
