SPRINGFIELD, IL- A Springfield man will spend the next 30 years behind bars for killing his own brother.
Last month a jury convicted Dennis Petitt, 61, of killing his brother, 51-year-old Anthony Petitt back in March of 2009.
The Sangamon County Sheriff says the murder happened because a long-simmering dispute between the two brothers erupted in violence.
Petitt was sentenced to 30 years in prison Monday afternoon.
