Springfield Vintage Toy Show Could Mean Big Money for Sellers

Springfield - They're a collection that many people have, and for some, they might not realize it, but they're collection could be worth something.

Rare toys worth big bucks were part of the Springfield Vintage Toy Buying Show.

Among some of the collections on display included a Superman Adventure number one comic book, the first appearance of the Man of Steel, which is estimated at $100,000.

Most of the toys brought in by sellers predated the 1980's and included Star Wars action figures, vintage GI Joes, and more.

Collectors can bring their toys with the hopes of selling them for big money.

"What we're doing is we want everybody to look through their attics and closets, and bring out all of those old toys that have been hiding their for all those decades.  It can be all kinds of stuff.  Anything from the 1980's or older.  We actually have a person that we bought a $20,000 comic book collection a couple of weeks ago.  He wasn't even expecting to sell anything.  There's tons of gold nuggets out there, but don't even worry about if they're not complete, we buy parts and pieces," said Joel Magee, the American Toy Scout.

The show continues on Friday until 5pm at the Hampton Inn, located 3185 South Dirksen Parkway.
