Kerion Overstreet

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - A man accused of trying to sexually assault a woman at a Decatur grocery store in July 2025 has pleaded guilty. 

According to court records, Kerion Overstreet pleaded guilty to an attempt to commit criminal sexual assault, a Class 2 felony. 

Overstreet must also undergo a sex offender evaluation. 

In a sworn statement regarding his arrest, Overstreet approached a woman from behind at the Save-A-Lot store on East William Street and wrapped his arms around her. The woman told Overstreet to let her go and then realized that she did not recognize him before continuing to walk through the store.

According to police, surveillance footage showed Overstreet approaching the woman from behind once more. This time, he threw her to the ground and positioned himself on top of her.

The woman reported to police that Overstreet exposed his genitals while on top of her and attempted to pull down her pants and underwear. Overstreet is scheduled to be sentenced at 10 a.m. on Feb. 26.
