URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - A man was killed in a shooting in Urbana early Friday morning. 

Urbana police were called to the 1200 block of Ellis Dr. at 1:48 a.m. for a shooting. 

They found a man with a gunshot wound. He was rushed to the hospital but did not survive.

Urbana Police Detectives, along with Illinois State Police Crime Scene Investigators, are investigating.

The alleged shooter was not on scene when officers arrived.

Urbana Police are asking anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, witnessed anything unusual, or may have surveillance or video footage to contact the Urbana Police Department at 217-384-2320.

Crime Stoppers will pay cash rewards of $5,000 for tips that lead to an 

arrest in any homicide case, $2,500 for tips leading to an arrest in a felony crime involving a firearm, and up to $1,000 for tips leading to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for any other crime.
