DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Interstate closures and power outages have followed severe storms through central Illinois.Â
Around 2 p.m. Sunday, ISP Troop 7 said southbound I-57 is closed at exit 229 for Monticello and Savoy because of a three vehicle crash. One driver was taken to the hospital with injuries.Â
State police also said westbound I-74 is closed between St. Joe and Ogden due to a flipped over tractor-trailer.Â
In Douglas County, troopers responded to a roll-over crash on I-57 southbound near Arcola. The driver was taken to a hospital with injuries.Â
The National Weather Service has taken storm reports of "some structural damage from high winds" in Champaign County. The report was passed along by the Champaign County Emergency Management Office.Â
A WAND News crew found damage near Tolono, an area that was under a Tornado Warning at one point Sunday afternoon. There have been no confirmed reports that a tornado was on the ground, but the weather service reported strong wind gusts over 50 miles per hour in Champaign County.
Other reports included trees and power lines down across Champaign and Coles counties.Â
During peak outages around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Ameren reported more than 4,000 customers without power in Champaign County and more than 3,600 people were without power in Coles County. A little over 1,000 customers were without power in Vermilion County.
By 5:30 p.m. Sunday, most customers without power had been restored. Around 1,000 Ameren customers were in the dark in east central Illinois, but the outages were widespread.Â
