Superintendent Milton Staying In Springfield

SPRINGFIELD, IL- The Springfield School District will not have to look for a new superintendent.

Dr. Walter Milton Jr. says he has withdrawn his name from consideration for the superintendent job in Little Rock, Arkansas.

In a statement released Thursday, Dr. Milton says he looks forward to being in Springfield for years to come.

Milton also says that he feels regret for any "feelings of uncertainty I may have engendered regarding my status or longevity in Springfield."

Dr. Milton was one of three finalists for the Little Rock job.
