(WAND) – A scam reaching Illinois cell phones is pretending to be from PNC.
The notice says “PNC Bank Message” and tells people to go to a link and “log in”. The person or people who sent that message are not associated with the bank in any way.
People who receive the message are asked to avoid visiting the link.
PNC’s website provides information about the nature of scams and what people should look for. It reports 75 percent of scams start on the phone in some capacity.
