NEOGA, Ill. (WAND) - Saturday morning, hundreds woke up to fallen trees and debris scattered throughout neighborhoods. The biggest shock in town, however, was at the Neoga schools.
"This, this is pretty bad..." Jordan Snively said, as he worked on repairing parts of the school. Snively is a Neoga graduate himself. Today, he spent hours rebuilding his own school.
Snively was one of many construction groups and volunteers on campus, helping to pick up the pieces after severe storm damage.

"Entire sections of the roof are not even damaged. They are missing!" John Peterson said, a volunteer helping pick up fallen branches in the parking lot.
Peterson and his friends spent their day cleaning up Neoga schools.
"It looks like an entire tornado went into the AG shop..." Peterson added.
The greenhouse is collapsed, and the roof is ripped to shreds. The welding shop has no roof left on top.
As the community assessed the damage, there is a long road ahead before classes can resume. One Neoga high school student, Mason Clossen, is unsure when that will be.
"Maybe some e-learning for now? I just hope we can get back in the classrooms as soon as possible," Clossen shared.
Jessica Peterson is another, concerned for her son who also attends school here. Peterson is confident in the administration. "They're probably working really hard right now to find the best possible plan to continue learning!"
Until classes resume, the town continues digging out.
Peterson confidently noted, "We're in a community that's going to step up."
