DECATUR, IL- Three men have been arrested for allegedly making meth in the basement of a Decatur home.

Stephen Mitchell, 23, Walter Grider, 44, and Joseph Barr, 45, have all been charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of meth making materials.

According to sworn statements, police were contacted just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday by a caller who said there was a man doing drugs in a truck in the 1400 block of West Macon Street. The caller told police that two other men parked their car near the truck and all three went inside 1417 West Macon with a large cooler.

Officers searched the basement of 1417 West Macon and allegedly found meth making materials, including pseudoephedrine pills, batteries, rubber tubing, drain cleaner and various chemicals. Police say they also found hypodermic needles and a glass smoking pipe.

Mitchell is being held on $75,000 bond, Grider on $50,000 bond and Barr on $60,000 bond.

Mitchell has a past felony conviction for possession of a controlled substance and was on probation and conditional discharge at the time of his arrest. Barr was convicted of federal conspiracy to distribute meth charges in 2000. He was released from prison in November 2002. Â
