The Tri-City School District said that health department officials did not find anything "alarming or hazardous" during a recent inspection

BUFFALO, Ill. (WAND) - The Tri-City School District said that health department officials did not find anything "alarming or hazardous" during a recent inspection amid students having mysterious allergic reactions during the school day.

Tri-City schools told WAND News Thursday that Sangamon County Health Department and Illinois Department of Public Health officials discussed the situation with the district Oct. 8 and conducted a walkthrough inspection of the buildings.

This comes after Tri-City schools confirmed to WAND News Tuesday that the district, "out of an abundance of caution," emailed parents, stating that a few students had reactions ranging from hives to potential anaphylaxis.

The district is awaiting a summary report from the IDPH and plans to share those details with the community once it is released.

Tri-City will continue to conduct air quality testing in the building and run its HEPA air purifiers.

The Illinois Department of Health also sent the following statement to WAND News:

"IDPH is aware of the concerns raised at Tri-City, and we are working with the school district and the Sangamon County Department of Public Health to assess the situation."

This story will be updated with more information.
