DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Two of the ADM employees injured from an explosion on September 10 remain in the hospital, according to a statement from the company.
The explosion occurred at ADM's East Plant. Decatur firefighters arrived around 7:12 p.m. on that Sunday. The first arriving crews found injured workers and severe damage to some of the buildings.
Once the exterior fires were contained, the fire department was able to send crews into the buildings with ADM personnel to extinguish remaining fires inside the buildings.

The statement from ADM said that the company continues to "prioritize outreach and support to our injured colleagues and their families as they recover."
The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration has opened an investigation into the explosion.
