CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign is one of thousands of institutions impacted by an ongoing cybersecurity threat involving Canvas. 

According to U of I Technology Services, a security incident happened at Instructure, Canvas's vendor, on Friday. 

Among the information involved were user data, including names, email addresses, student ID numbers and messages. 

The company stated that it found no evidence of sensitive information being leaked, as Canvas does not contain any personal or financial information.

Technology Services stated that it is continually monitoring the situation and working with Instructure.
