LOGAN COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) — A standoff that shut down a portion of Interstate 155 for most of Thursday has ended, according to Illinois State Police.
Troopers arrived to help a driver at milepost 9 near Emden just before 10 p.m. Wednesday. ISP said the driver has refused to leave the vehicle.
A crisis negotiation team and mental health professional were on scene and spoke to the solo driver. The driver was taken into custody and brought to a local hospital for treatment.
ISP that all lanes of I-155 reopened a little before 7 p.m. WAND News has reached out to ISP to learn more.
