Jack-knifed semi leads to Interstate 57 blockage

DEWITT COUNTY - The Illinois State Police are investigating a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 74 that left one person dead.

According to the preliminary investigation into the crash, ISP Troopers say the incident happened during the early morning hours of June 14, near Mile Marker 160.  Authorities say the sole occupant of the vehicle was pronounced dead by the DeWitt County Coroner at 6:31 a.m.

DeWitt County Coroner Randall Rice says the victim has been identified as Grant Bennett, 45.  Rice says preliminary autopsy results indicate that Bennett died of multiple injuries sustained in the crash.  The investigation into this incident is ongoing.
